The Hinckley Walking Rugby Festival is on Saturday 20th June 2026.
Many of you will have participated in a great day last year and we are expecting some new participants this year. Those of you who were involved last year may recall that we ran two events side by side.
We had a tournament for existing walking rugby teams with a final and a trophy. Alongside this, we ran a community event which consisted of 'scratch' teams such as a local gym, a local pub, a netball team, etc. Many of these participants had not played rugby before. Hinckley WR put a team into each event which meant that our less confident players were able to get game time.
A few more details below about the day.
Times: The club will be open from 10.00am.
Registration will be between 10.30 and 11.30am.
Games will start from 12.00 and it is anticipated that we will finish around 4.00pm.
Matches: The matches will be 7 minutes each way with a size 4 ball. Teams will consist of 7 players with match day squads of 10 players. Substitutes can be used at any time during the match. Cost: The entry fee is £50.00 per team with the proceeds going towards the Air Ambulance charity.
Other: Both male and female changing rooms will be available on the day. Food will also be available. If teams wish to stay then camping is allowed on the club site. It is sure to be a great day! If your club would like to be involved then please respond to me by the deadline of 4th June (at least 2 weeks before the event) stating whether you will be entering one or two teams.
